I've been in London for a few days and I am loving it! We've done a few tours of the city, traveled on the Tube, done some shopping, and seen a couple of shows. We went on a tour of Parliament the other day. The building was beautiful and the tour guide gave some many years of history in a short amount of time, but it was very interesting.
On Monday night I went to Mary Poppins. The show was fantastic! The set was absolutely incredible and I still have no idea how they did some of the special effects. It was different to see a stage version as opposed to the Disney movie, but I really enjoyed it.
On Tuesday afternoon we got to be groudlings at the Globe Theatre for a production of The Merchant of Venice. I always knew that Shakespeare was meant to be seen and not just read, but this really brought that concept home. I loved the show. The actors did a great job of making the characters fun, commical, and real. They also interacted with the audience a lot, which was enjoyable.
So far things are great!
